Presma, who
built their first Injection Moulding Machine more than 65 years
ago, now have a world-wide reputation in manufacturing Multi- Station
Injection Moulding machines primarily for Structural Foam &
Bi- Component or Sandwich moulded products.
The
need for the Multi-Station Injection Moulding machine approach came
about when High production thick cross-section products had to be
produced in volume, which required long cooling times. The manufacture
of Shoe Components came into this category and many hundreds of
Presma
Injection Moulding machines were produced for this application,
with models of 5, 10, and 18 Stations becoming quite standard.
This
technology was soon taken up by other high volume industries such
as Paint Brushes and furniture components, and with the development
of new materials such as Cross-Linked EVA for tyres & Sea Floats
other Presma Injection Moulding models were developed.
Presma
currently produce Multi-Station Injection Moulding machines with
Platen sizes in excess of 1 metre Sq between the Tie-Bars, down
to a 96 Station Single Cavity model for the production of foamed
EVA Based Wine Corks.
One
of the latest involvement's for Presma has been in the development
of Gas Injection coupled with Co-Injection using the Multi-Station
concept, and this has opened up a number of new product possibilities.
Insert
Moulding for example for Cutlery & Hand Tools is extensively
covered by Presma, and the result of all these innovative products
is the large number of Presma Injection Moulding Machines in operation
around the world.
