Maris started manufacturing Extruders in 1960, producing equipment
for the PVC Pipe & Profile Industry.
Following a careful study of growth
in the Compounding Industry, they built their first Twin Screw Extruder
in 1970, and by 1980 they dedicated all their production to purpose
built Twin Screw Extruders for Compounding applications.
Maris are now a world leader in manufacturing
Compounding Plants for the production of a wide range of Polymers
and Polymer Alloys, Hot Melts, Reaction Polymers, Masterbatches
and POM.
The expanding Maris Plant is at Rosta near
Turin, and here they have designed and built all the Twin Screw
Extruders for distribution throughout the world. The heart of any
Twin Screw Extruder is the Gearbox, and the Maris design and engineering
excellence has enabled them to maintain their
position at the head of the field in Torque capability and Output/Screws
Rpm.
Customers are invited to test their own specific
formulations in the Maris test facility, allowing machines to be
tailored to the customers requirements, using the adaptable Screw
Elements and Barrel Segment design that has been developed. It also
gives customers the opportunity
to inspect the modern engineering plant where all the Maris Twin
Screw Extruders are produced and built.
Over the years the Maris range of Twin Screw
Extruders has steadily grown and now spans 20mm - 230mm Twin Screws
with L/D Ratios from 24:1 - 52:1, giving
Maris the capability of tackling most Compounding Applications
